Everything we see around us started as an idea in some one's mind. The computer you use, the chair you sit, the table you use..... everything started as an idea. As a website creator you also need good Ides. Good Idea does not necessorily mean 'million dollar ideas'.
For me any idea that on completion gives me satisfaction is a good idea. Generation of idea is not a static one that gets completed when you decide about the topic of a website, it is a continuous process.
If you already decided the topic of your website you don't have to read more. Otherwise read on...
Take a blank sheet of paper and write on its top 'Ideas for My Website'. Underneath the heading write any and all the ideas that come to your mind numbering them from 1. Just don't think about the practical aspects of the ideas you write like finance and time.
You might think "Anyway I have to exclude some of the ideas, why not now?."
There is a reason that I asked you not to ponder upon the details now. If you focus on the details while forming ideas you might have to say no to some of them. This saying 'no' will hinder the flow of ideas.
A million dollar idea may be waiting to come at the last, Who knows?.
Ideas generated are not enough what to do?
Some times ideas won't come to you directly. Here is a list of topics for jogging your mind. 101ideas for personal website . Visit the website and go through the list of areas for a website. An idea might strike you when you come across a topic, write that down along with the previous list.
Another way to generate an idea is to visit some websites. you might come across a site you like on your regular browsing. Note that down. A site I use is stumble upon. The topics are wide spread so it is easy to get lost in the sea. Be careful using this one.
Now you have lots of ideas to think upon. Get your list ready for an informed cropping.
